My wife Tammy and I had an all day horseback ride on June 27th at 0820am. We had Mike and Bryce as our guides. First off, I would like to say how that ride was probably the highlight of our trip. From the moment we showed up at camp we felt welcome! We were the Ohio rednecks who were early and on time for our ride. Something that I heard doesn’t happen that often. We were met by the big boss lady, who I am terribly sorry, as I am horrible remembering names on first go around. But I believe I had an extensive conversation of archery elk hunting in that camp with her husband Mark? Then we met Mike and Bryce who were our top notch guides. Very knowledgeable and informative in everything they spoke about. As we got further into the trip and started learning more about them we were amazed at their backgrounds and experience. And to find out that Bryce had been doing this since a young age. It was great to listen about Mike and his law enforcement background, his passion of the outdoors and how he decided to change and follow that for happiness. Something I wish I would have followed many years ago, with my passion for hunting and the outdoors. Talking to him lit that fire in me once again. And Bryce, for his young age was quite knowledgeable about the outdoors and handling of the horses. Hopefully he will continue to follow his dreams and get his guide license. I am sure he has some positive role models in your camp, so hopefully they will continue to take him under their wings and guide him along, as he was an impressive young man. And by the way, Bryce was one of the funniest young men I have had the pleasure of meeting. He had my sides hurting by end of the trip. Please take care of those two, because they are huge part as to why my wife and I will be returning for another trip in the future, as well as the warm, home like welcome we received as soon as we pulled into camp by the camp staff. Thank you, take care and thanks for the lasting impression and memories.
"Trip Advisor—Take note!
The extreme backcountry ride was well worth it. you never know what you will get when you look online but we were very pleased with everything. From the scenic drive into camp to the hospitality and most important SAFETY. Three kids- 9, 12, 14 were taken care of and our guide Hunter took care of us the entire way!
We will brag about our time here.
Thanks to Cowboy Mark x 2 & Jan as well!
"Our family of five took the full day ride along Middle Ridge. The day was one of the most amazing we have all experienced. The mountain meadows were resplendent with an indescribable array of wildflowers, the mountain views were amazing. The highlight was seeing a large (150-ish) herd of elk and observing their behavior once they became aware of our presence. Amazing!!
The accommodations and the food were excellent. Our stay with Jackson Hole Outfitters was one of the highlights of our trip. We will definitely be back."

P.S. Kate enjoyed riding Zip Code
"Thank you very much!!! All of the kids LOVED the ride and the scenery was, of course, incredible. Mark and Tyler both did a great job of calming my nerves :) and keeping us safe. I loved the instructions at the beginning- so my kids knew what they needed to do. We highly recommend this ride."
"Our half-day trail ride was spectacular. We had blues skies, saw beautiful meadow flowers and enjoyed stunning views of the mountains. Mark and Jan were patient, kind and funny. Most of us had little to no experience but it was no problem—the horses behaved well. We would thoroughly recommend the experience to others and would love to come back again one day."
The reviews were right, and more—not only was this a great introduction to riding, but a wonderful place to stay overnight. We even got to see a moose early in the morning! Definitely a highlight of our trip to Wyoming!
People like you make this world a better place. We had a wonderful time, thank you.

Above and beyond…We will never forget this experience. Great crew, sweet, informative, and genuine. Hope to see you back here again in the future.
What an amazing day! Great ride, great views, and an awesome guide. Tom, thank you for the personal tour of Wyoming. I can’t wait to return for the next adventure. Thanks so much. You all have a special place here.
Coming out West and doing some trail riding was a big one on our bucket list. Thank you guys for a wonderful experience. Everything was great from the scenic trail rides to the home-cooked meals, campfire, and luxury tents. And the staff couldn’t have been better. After two action-packed weeks in Arizona, Utah, and Wyoming, this may have been the best couple of days yet! Thank you and happy trails.

Brought the family out for a half day ride and to enjoy the mountains. Riders ranged from experienced to afraid of horses. Tom did an excellent job from the start putting everyone at ease and judging their comfort level. The horses were great and suited for the riders, Tom was funny and educational at the same time.
The scenery was outstanding but what made a great experience is the people, and the people here are outstanding. I would highly recommend that anyone who comes to Alpine or Jackson come here for a great experience.
We have just arrived back in New Zealand and I feel I must email you to say how much Christine and I enjoyed our horse trek on June 23rd. I am sorry to say I have forgotten the name of the charming young man who took us on the trek and looked after two old 60 something gals so well. We really enjoyed his company.
My husband was booked to go too, you may remember he managed to get on the horse, then straight back off again. Probably just as well he stayed behind as I am sure he would not have lasted the 6 or 7 hours and we would have had to cut the trip short.
To be honest the day was the highlight of our trip and the experience of a lifetime. The scenery and wild flowers never to be equaled or forgotten. Thanks again for a wonderful day.
On June 22, 2010, my family and I returned to Jackson Hole Outfitters for another full day of great horseback riding. My two daughters, wife and I had a fantastic time last year and could not wait to again enjoy the "Wilds of Wyoming". As with our last trip, we were happily greeted by you and after getting our lunch together, we all traveled up to your base camp. This is where the dream began again.
Your camp was well laid out and we were very excited as we mounted up for our adventure. When our guide, Tom, approached we knew we were in good hands. Tom turned out to be one of the nicest and most knowledgeable people we have ever met and under his expert guidance; we immediately ascended into a meadow of beautiful flowers and pines. The journey continued and as we gained elevation, we seemed to go back in time to the old west. The views were so beautiful and the horses so well behaved that we just sat back and enjoyed the ride as we passed by an alpine lake teaming with trout and frequented by several beautiful Western Tanagers.
We traveled onward through rock slides and between towering pines. We didn't know whether to look up at the snow covered mountains or down at the endless flowers. Tom told us of a previous rider that stayed on the ground most of her trip to take close-up photographs of the amazing flowers. We were similarly transfixed by the variety of colors and shapes we saw while on horseback.
By the time we stopped for lunch, we were completely transformed. We will never forget sitting under a tall pine looking down on a small lake, waiting for a possible glimpse of elk and their young. As a Geologist, I spent most of the lunch break photographing the amazing rock structures and exposures. After lunch we loaded up for the final ascent through an Aspen Tree meadow to a place Tom frequents. It was a sharp incline with exposed and highly weathered dark colored rocks, forming a favorite place for Mule Deer to warm themselves. We saw a few as they fled our noisy approach, but the sights offered by Tom will never be forgotten; the sound of the wind, the distant view of the Tetons, the alpine meadows, the ultimate peacefulness of the place. My Family and I still can't believe what we saw and experienced.
Tom got us back to the base camp late in the afternoon and we parted ways. But I know we did not fully express our heartfelt gratitude and happiness at having again ridden with your team. So Grant, we want to thank you and Tom again for the best time we've ever had, and we hope to return to Jackson Hole Outfitters to experience another trip of a lifetime!
